Catch Up

3 12 2008

I keep thinking that somehow, miraculously, I will find the time to dedicate the time that I need for the posts that are piling up.  I have decided that it might be best to just start posting pieces of posts and hope they all come together into a story of the last month.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving – and to all you crazy non-American readers -  I hope you had a wonderful last Thursday.  My Thanksgiving morning started out with this….

Yes, she is my daughter.  Her goofiness comes through even the most serious letters.  Reminds me of someone….

And by the way?  The “lamb leg” turned out beautifully.

Awww. Though I’m left wondering what the Pumkin is and why it needs to Die?

A buddy of mine is married to a girl from Michigan so I ended up celebrating Thanksgiving at a wee party they threw – rock on! I’m loving the whole “christmas dinner not at christmas” that you Yankees have got going on…

I love that it is signed ‘Love, Sophia (your daughter?)’ …

Us Canadians (ok probably just me) were already well into starting Christmas celebrations by the time you guys do Thanksgiving!

I ADORE that she felt the need to identify herself as your daughter when she signed the letter.

And that is some damn tasty looking pumpkin pie. (does that tell you how much I like the pumpkin pie?)

Oh, I love your daughter! I’m rather impressed that you have both lamb and turkey for Thanksgiving. Next year, I’m coming to your house.

I’ll bake desserts if you’ll handle the meat(s).

Love this. Can she come to my house to teach the Things all about neat handwriting?

Happy belated thanksgiving!! It must be lovely to get notes like that. I used to write them to my mum and leave them under her pillow.

Zillions of years later, i found by accident she’d stored them all in her Bible and was hideously embarassed by what I wrote, but I guess she loved them enough to store them in the Great Book!!

That food sounds yummy. I swear I’ll have to travel to the US for an extended trip one holidays season, just to try all that yummy and fun stuff!!
